In the last two quarters of the Indian smartphone market, Xiaomi has been dominating itself. At the same time Xiaomi’s anti-companies like Asus, Oppo are making phones with better specification in the same budget, and are trying to challenge Xiaomi. xiaomi is still pursuing its old strategy, which is why the company is providing new specifications at very aggressive prices. Recently, xiaomi has launched a new phone which is selfie centered. xiaomi launched this phone in the name of Redmi Y2. We used this phone of Redmi for a few days, let us know some things related to it.

The design of this phone is similar to both the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi A1. Like the Redmi Note 5 Pro in the new Xiaomi Redmi Y2, dual rear camera and fingerprint sensors have been given as well. Like the A1, this phone also has antenna lines. The rear camera of the new phone is slightly less than the old phone. Xiaomi’s new Redmi Y2 is extremely slim and it is quite light. The width of the phone is 8 millimeters and its weight is only 170 grams. There are three slot trays on the left side of the phone while the volume and power buttons are on the right side. There is a headphone jack on the phone and there is a speaker and a microSD port below. The company has designed the phone just like the old phone. The body of the phone is full metallic, on the edge of which are the Hulk goals. Xiaomi is giving three color variants to the customers Dark Gray, Gold and Rose Gold. We used gold color variants for a few days.

The display

The Radmi Y2 has the capture of the display and it has front camera, earpiece etc. A 5.9-inch FullHD display has been given in Redmi Y2, which is 1440×720 pixel resolution, similar to that of Redmi 5. Xiaomi has also launched a fullscreen feature with the Redmi Y2. As its name suggests, with its help you can use gesture control in full screen mode. If you have to go to Home then you have to swipe from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen. Swipe from right to left side of the screen and go to the back menu.

Working with such new features can take some time, but over time it will become habitual. There is a reading mode in the phone, which reduces the blue light and has less effect on the eyes. You can also decide the deadline for redig switch mode.

The performance

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has 2 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and Adreno 506 GPU. The company has made two variants of the phone, which includes 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage.

Radmi Y2 runs on the Xiaomi Miui 9, which is based on Android 8.0. Like the previous one, 3rd party app in xiaomi still does not touch the ratio of 18:9. When using the phone, it is found that when opening an app, there is a black patch on the screen that becomes normal with time. We hope that if the MIUI 10 is made available in Redmi Y2 soon, then this problem can be over. There was no problem in the network during calling and audio quality was also good in the phone. The speaker is down in the phone and the volume is quite fast, but if you take it in landscape mode it can have some effect on its volume.

The camera

Xiaomi has launched Radmi Y2 in the market as a selfie centric phone. The 16-megapixel front camera at Radmi Y2 exists with Artificial Intelligence. Selfie comes with camera aperture F / 2.0, HDR sensor and AI Beauty 4.0 Beautification features. Xiaomi has given super pixels on the front camera, which shows low noise in the photo. While photographing in low light, it was found that while the feature was in the picture, the quality of the pictures is not very good compared to the way the company claimed the correct light on the photo. Without HDR mode, the colors of the photos were lightweight but on the HDR the photo quality increased. At the same time, Xiaomi gives you a Beautification mode, which will make your photos look even better and beautiful. For always good photo quality, you will need to put the selfie light feature on the phone along with the HDR.

Y2’s rear camera is 12 megapixels + 5 megapixels, which is present with RGB sensor. The company claims that the rear camera of the phone gives street photography and best portraits. But the difference between the background and the foreground in the photo is not clear.

For the customer, the company also offers many other features in the camera such as small video which is set to default, square photo, protat, panorama and manual mode. In the Redmi Y2 camera you will find features like Instagram.

Like the Xiaomi Mi A1, the Radmi Y2 battery is also 3080 mAh. The company says that the battery of the phone can run for about one day, but it can be reduced for those who use the phone more. After doing normal work in the phone and keeping the GPS ON, our phone battery lasted one day.

What features, what are the drawbacks

Xiaomi Redmi is the Y2 budget smartphone that has Snapdragon 625 processor. The phone has a 16-megapixel front AI camera for better picture quality. If you want a smart battery with a low-budget smart phone, you can think of buying this phone. Those customers who have not used the phone of Xiaomi company before, this may be a good option, but those who are already using the phones of Xiaomi company, they will not have any new realization in the new Redmi Y2.
