Taiwan company MediaTek today said it is working with Reliance Jio about the use of its chipset designed for the early-stage Android Go oreo smartphone.
MediaTek General Manager T L Lee told reporters (Wireless Communications) here that the device based on this chipset can be introduced in the first quarter of the year.
He said, ‘Live along with your own 4G feature phones, other smartphones, even for the early-stage Android Go, not only is MediaTek but also working with Google.’
Google introduced the Android Oreo Go version recently for smartphones with a GB and below RAM. These low-cost smartphones can help bigger in the use of mobile internet in markets like India.
Indian handset manufacturer Micromax has announced that it will launch the new Android Go Orao based smartphone in a few weeks.
